Artur Gevorgyan, who died in the Artsakh war, volunteered to take part in the war.
“We said goodbye not with tears and grief, but with joy, knowing that our homeland demands it, so he has to go,” Artur’s father, Arayik (Rubik) Gevorgyan says.
Artur last called on 18 October, on his birthday.
Artur’s colleagues said that 35-40 people approached Artur’s 6-member group, saying that they were Armenians, they should not shoot, then they shot and killed one of the 6․ At that time the boys realized that they were not Armenians and they five killed everyone.
“Artur sacrificed himself for the sake of the little ones, for the sake of his friends, for the sake of the homeland,” Artur’s neighbor says.
Artur Gorgyan was born on 18 October, 1980, and died on 19 October, 2020.
