Alexander, wounded in the war, fought for 6 months to live, died without regaining consciousness: tells the hero’s mother

Alexander participated in the large-scale war unleashed by Azerbaijan on May 27, 2020. He was born in the village of Kyuratagh in the Hadrut region of Artsakh on November 21, 2000.

“He loved doing village work, then he went to Russia, came back and said that after his military service he would go there to work. He wasn’t much of a student, but he was a hard worker. As soon as he finished school, they took him to service, he served well. He was serving in Mataghis,” Silva Aleksanyan, his mother, tells Iravaban.net as part of the “For the Homeland” series.

Alexander was a serviceman for 1 year and 9 months when the war started; his mother says that her son was not afraid of anything.

“My two children were asleep, I realized that the sound of fighting was coming, I got up and understood that they had started firing from all sides. Both of my sons were in the army at that time. I picked up the phone, called, but whoever I called, their phone was turned off. We didn’t speak with Alik for 5 days, then he called and said ‘we’re fine,'” our interlocutor recalls.

Then it became known that Alexander had been wounded. The parents searched for him for a long time and found him in one of Yerevan’s hospitals, in an unconscious state. The mother recognized her son by the marks on his feet. The doctors said that his brain was damaged, but Alexander fought for 6 months to live, and died on May 14, 2021.
