“Four people had fallen, the others had escaped, friends found the body in the trench”: Suren Fahrdyan had just married when the war began

Suren Fahrdyan had chosen the military profession. He was a contract soldier when Azerbaijan launched a large-scale war on September 27, 2020.

Sanam Petrosyan, mother of 7 children, told Iravaban.net within the framework of the “Immortal Victims of the Artsakh War” series that she had raised her children with difficulty: “Suren had many goals, but he didn’t achieve them. All my sons are good, but he was special.”

She says that her son respected and loved everyone, and it was mutual. Suren worked in Stepanakert. His mother emphasizes her son’s diligence.

Suren also completed his military service in Artsakh, and according to his mother, he never complained: “He loved it, and when he came back from the army, he always said, ‘I need to go, they went…’ We were against it, we didn’t want it, but he had already decided. He had applied three times, but the contract hadn’t been approved, but on the 4th time he went, it worked out. He was accepted on September 24, 2020, and the war began on the 27th.”

Suren had gotten married 6 months before the war but didn’t have time to have children. He was killed on September 27, 2020, in Karvachar.
