The court hearing on the case of the 3rd President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan’s nephew Hayk Alexander Sargsyan has been summoned at the Shengavit residence of the Yerevan Court of First Instance today.
The hearing is presided over by Judge Anna Danibekyan.
The court investigated the pistol from which Hayk Sargsyan allegedly shot in the belly of David Simonyan.
Ashot Simonyan was also due to be questioned today, but he is not in Armenia. Defendant Hayk Sargsyan petitioned for the prosecution to drop that witness, as the latter’s absence violates the principles of a fair trial. Danibekyan decided to give another witness a chance and postponed the hearing.
It should be reminded according to the indictment, Hayk Sargsyan, on 1 April at around 4 pm in the room located on the ground floor of apartment 14 of building 11 in Tumanyan Street, Yerevan where he was registered, shot in Davit Simonyans abdomen from an illegally acquired and maintained pistol “SIGSAUER” with a purpose of intentional deprivation of life. However could not complete the crime due to circumstances beyond his will.
