Today, on 25 May, the regular court hearing on the accident of “Kamaz” case was held in the Court of General Jurisdiction of Shirak marz. The former court session was ended by the interrogation of several witnesses.
Some of the victims and the victim’s successors had not attended today’s session as well. The representative of the civil claimant had not come because of the illness.
Hasmik Mkrtchyan, the victim’s successor was interrogated today; she is the daughter of “Gazel” minibus driver. She said that her father was employed at “Trans Akntart” LLC since 2002-2003. She had spoken with her father on the day of the accident at about 17:15. On the same day at about 20:00 her father’s phone was out of reach. Then she looked for her father in the hospital among the injured, and only after that she was informed that he was dead. Advocate Liana Bakyan asked what Hasmik Mkrtchyan knew about the circumstance that “Gazel” vehicle was riding at a speed of 80-90 kilometers per hour, the tires were worn out as well as the breaks, and there were more passengers in the minibus than allowed by the limit. H Mkrthchyan was unable to answer those questions.
Gurgen Tumanyan, another victim’s successor informed the court that he learned about the accident late at night on the same day, and after that he looked for his father in the hospitals. The next day he found his father’s body parts in the pathoanatomical laboratory. In addition he informed that by that moment he had known that both the Gazel and Kamaz vehicles had been riding at a higher speed than it was allowed, and their headlights were off and that was the reason of their collision.
On the assumption of the fact that other relatives of the victims did not attend the court session it was decided to postpone the session and to set the next court session on 5 June 2015 at 12:00.
