Today, on June 23 the members of the initiative “Prevent the Increase of Electricity Prices” organized a campaign against the increase of the electricity prices in front of the Public Services Regulatory Commission.
Clashes occurred during the campaign between the police and the activists. Most of them were taken to the police office by force.
Activist, Ara Karagyozyan who is the member of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association in the result of the clashes with the police officers was taken to “Grigor Lusavorich” hospital.
The latter when telling the details of the case during the conversation with Iravaban.net mentioned, “Holding my carotids they raised my head and then hit my heart. Then I lost my conscience. When I came to, the police officers were already far.”
Ara lost his conscience for some 3-5 minutes.
According to the activist he asked to call the police in the ambulance car. “I applied to Ombudsman but I am already 3 hours in the hospital but there is no response from the police.”
According to the police, they haven’t received any message from the hospital.
Ara Karagyozyan was in nervous shock when taken to hospital.
Currently his condition is stable.
