Glendale Mayor Ellen Asatryan will be in Armenia on 11-20 June to participate in the US-Armenia Local Democracy Forum organized by the US State Department. The municipality of Glendale reports that Elen Asatryan will arrive ahead the delegation on the night of 11 June.
The purpose of the visit is to develop bilateral relations, explore economic opportunities and promote cultural and educational exchanges between Armenia and Glendale and beyond. The Mayor will visit Yerevan, Gyumri and, as mentioned, if time permits, Kapan as well.
“I am excited to return to my homeland Armenia as the Mayor of Glendale, home to the largest concentration of Armenians outside of Armenia, which makes up approximately 40% of our city’s population,” Asatryan said, speaking about her visit to Armenia.
During the visit, meetings are planned with officials of local self-government bodies of Armenia, media, businessmen and community organizations.
