Unknown persons fired automatic weapons at the synagogue and church of the city of Derbent, of Republic of Dagestan, a subject of the Russian Federation.
As “RIA Novosti” reports, the Head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, Gayana Garieva, informed.
“According to the data of the Duty Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, at approximately 18:00 (Yerevan time: 19:00) in Derbent, unknown persons shot at the synagogue and the church with automatic weapons,” she said.
According to preliminary information, one policeman was killed and another was injured as a result of the attack. The suspects fled in a white “Volkswagen Polo” car with registration number 921.
The staff of the Investigative Committee went to the scene to find out all the circumstances of the incident.
Almost at the same time, in the capital of Dagestan, Makhachkala, unknown persons attacked the traffic police station on Yermoshkin Street.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, one policeman was killed and six others were injured. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties or injuries among the civilian population.
The attackers are being identified.
