Armenia remains an ally of the CSTO, all obligations towards Yerevan remain in force, the Secretary General of the CSTO said.
“Armenia was and remains our ally, all our obligations to Armenia remain,” the Secretary General of the CSTO told reporters after the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CSTO, in which the Armenian side did not participate.
According to him, staying or leaving the organization is the sovereign right of Yerevan. He also added that the issue of refusing CSTO funding should be addressed to Armenia.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Armenia.
In February 2024, Yerevan announced the freezing of its participation in CSTO.
