“Ever since I was a child, when I saw a person in uniform in the street, I always wondered what his profession was, and when I grew up, I realized that people in uniform were different. After studying the differences in professions at the Faculty of Law, I realized that the profession of the investigator is closer to my heart,” Nazeli Sargsyan, Senior Investigator of the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan of the Investigative Committee, said within the framework of “Investigator Presents” series of interviews of Iravaban.net,

– Do you often encounter difficulties and disappointments in your career?

– There have been difficulties, in any case, we have a difficult profession, but I personally have not had any disappointments.

– Did the choice of profession have an impact on your personal life?

– Every person, regardless of gender, should be able to separate personal life from practical life. I try to be guided by that principle and it helps that my profession does not affect my personal life.

– How did your family accept your decision to become an investigator?

– My family did not hinder my decisions and always supported me.

– What tactical feature or special traits of character will you mention that are specific to the investigator?

– The investigator needs flexibility of mind, the ability to quickly orient personally, the ability to quickly find solutions in any situation and a strong will, coolness is also important.

– There may be cases during the work, when the person who is interrogated uses different manipulations, is it possible not to give in to them and continue working?

– When applying for a job in an investigative commission, a private interview with a specialized psychologist is mandatory, during which the professional and voluntary qualities of the investigator are revealed. Based on my work experience, I can say that such cases have never had any effect on me and cannot have any effect.

– Do you imagine yourself in another field?

– My childhood dream was to become an investigator and I cannott imagine myself in any other field.

– It is constantly mentioned that the investigators are working very hard. Do you remember a case when you spent the night at work?

– When choosing this profession, I imagined all the complexity and there were cases when we stayed at the workplace and carried out urgent investigative actions.

– How many investigative cases have you handled at the same time?

– There was a period when I examined 75-80 criminal proceedings at the same time.

– Have you received threats because of your work?

– During my first session in court, the detainee said “I will come out in 7 years, 15 years and kill you”, I still live peacefully.

– Is there any case that left a special mark on your career?

– As far as I remember it was a robbery case that I investigated completely personally and I remember it with great fondness as the first case.
