9 days before the Azerbaijani aggression on 19 September, 2023, Kamsar Bakhshiyan was wounded while performing a combat mission, as a result of which he lost his lower limb.

He told within the framework of the “Second Artsakh War։ Those Who live and help to live” series of Iravaban.net  that since 2016 he joined the sacred cause of the defense of the motherland.

“On 10 September, I was going to the military unit, I received an instruction from the higher command that the enemy is in the interspace of our combat positions and is trying to carry out a sabotage operation. After receiving the instruction, I went there with my subordinate unit. Arriving at the given area, I carried out the combat mission by walking to the specified place, during which I exploded on a mine. After the explosion, when my soldiers wanted to come closer, I didn’t let them approach, because I did not know in what quantity and what was there. I said: stay in place, I crawled to a safer place, pushing myself with both hands. I found out that my foot was wounded and is in a bad situation, but in 2020, when we had seen everything, I didn’t have much panic, I had already passed that stage. After the amputation, I regained consciousness, I had very bad feelings,” Kamsar said.

After the amputation the first person whom our interlocutor met in the hospital was his wife and her look gave him the strength to live.

“I was not well, somehow I kept myself from crying when my relatives came, first of all I looked at my wife, I did not notice any pity or brokenness on her face, I felt strength that we can live, we can overcome difficulties,” Kamsar says.

Kamrsar Bakhshiyan was in the hospital when the enemy unleashed another aggression against Artsakh, as a result of which the Republic of Artsakh was occupied and depopulated.
