The Draft on Sweden’s membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was put to the vote in the Turkish Parliament on 23 January.

As a result of voting, it was accepted (ratified) with 287 votes in favor, 55 against and 4 abstentions out of 346 deputies.
The vote took place after the General Council of the Parliament described Sweden’s membership in NATO as “expedient”.
