The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus , has called on ev eryone to wear masks and get vaccinated against COVID-19, due to the increase in cases in many countries in several weeks.
“The number of respiratory illnesses caused by COVID-19, influenza and other pathogens has been increasing in many countries for seve ral weeks and is expected to continue after the recent holidays,” Tedros wrote on the X page of his social media .
In this regard, he urges everyone to get tested for COVID-19 and seek medical help if necessary.
“Continue to use masks, ventilation and social distancing to reduce exposure, and make sure you and your loved ones are vaccinated against COVID-19 and influenza,” the WHO Director General added.
