The Ukrainian authorities have agreed to the country’s neutral status

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement by the Servant of the People Party that a new treaty guaranteeing the country’s security needs to be signed shows that Kiev has agreed to declare the country a neutral state.  STRANA.ua reported.

“The statement of the Servant of the People Party is very significant, as the Ukrainian authorities have for the first time voiced the wording of how they see in Kiev the neutral state status demanded by Russia. In fact, the ruling party has agreed to declare such a status (because NATO is not ready to accept them) and to include in its decision a condition of security guarantees to be given by the West, Turkey and Russia,” the media writes..=

The website also notes that the statement of the Ukrainian authorities during the hostilities “does not seem very appropriate”, but after the end of the Russian special operation it may become a basis for future compromises.

Earlier, the ruling party of Ukraine issued a statement in which it announced the impossibility of joining NATO in the coming years. The need to sign a new international treaty, which will replace the Budapest Memorandum, will guarantee the country’s security on behalf of the United States, Turkey and neighboring countries. The Ukrainian version of security guarantees also offers Moscow to legally fix the recognition of Ukrainian statehood, to guarantee “the absence of threats against Kiev”.
