Austria is launching mandatory coronavirus vaccination for people over the age of 18 since the beginning of February, RIA Novosti reports.
“To successfully fight the coronavirus pandemic, a high level of vaccine coverage is needed to protect the Austrian healthcare system.
Therefore, from the beginning of February, a universal compulsory vaccination against COVID-19 will be launched in Austria,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
People who have not been vaccinated should get the vaccine from the beginning of February until 15 March. The authorities will send a notification by mail. The start of this phase will depend on when the law on mandatory vaccinations will come into force.
