Baku has not fulfilled the points of the trilateral statement: Ararat Mirzoyan is in Moscow

The working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan to the Russian Federation has started. RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a private conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, which was followed by an extended meeting.

During the meeting with Lavrov, the Armenian Foreign Minister once again noted that Baku has not fulfilled the points of the trilateral statement on the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno Karabakh.

“Azerbaijan is taking provocative steps, which are a direct encroachment on the sovereign territory of Armenia, which we have been facing since 12 May this year. These actions are accompanied by Armenophobic, aggressive statements,” he said.

Mirzoyan stressed Yerevan’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Moscow.

“There are issues that our military and border guards solve on a daily basis in cooperation with our Armenian and Azerbaijani partners. There is a tripartite working group on unblocking economic and transport communications at the level of deputy prime ministers,” Lavrov said.

The Russian Foreign Minister also noted that the agenda of the Armenian-Russian cooperation is very saturated: economy, investments, security sphere, as well as humanitarian, education and science spheres. “We want this cooperation to continue to develop for the benefit of our citizens and our cooperation,” Lavrov said.

Sergei Lavrov congratulated Ararat Mirzoyan on his appointment as RA Foreign Minister and thanked him for his first visit to Moscow.
