Edik Karapetyan and Armen Karapetyan, who died in the Artsakh war, were father and son. They died one day apart: The son Armen died on 2 October in Jabrail, and father on 3 October in Karvachar.
Edik Karapetyan is a participant in the three Artsakh wars. From 1992 to 1997 he was in Artsakh, took part in battles for Lachin, Karvachar and other. On 27 September, 2020, when the third Artsakh war broke out, his son Armen Karapetyan was a conscript. He enlisted in the army on 12 July, 2019, served in Khndzoresk, participated in military training in Jabrail.
When Edik Karapetyan learned the news of the death of his son’s classmate Erik Sahakyan, he decided that he should take part in this war as well. He left for Artsakh on 29 September.
“My son called and said, ‘Mom, why did Dad go? It’s not his war, it’s not the war of the 90s, he’s not with a gun, this is a completely different war, he won’t be able to escape if something happens,” the mother Alina Karapetyan says.
Edik Armen Karapetyan was born on 5 February, 1964, Armen Edik Karapetyan was born on 17 January, 2001.
