Today, at about 03.00 – 03.25 in the night, some young people ran from Tigran Mets Avenue to Khorenatsi Street, where the protest action was held, and informed that the police forces are gathering in the Avenue.
Gevorg Tosunyan, the journalist of Iravaban.net website went there to cover the situation. Coming to Tigran Mets Avenue he noticed the police coming forward under the bridge and some 5-6 persons in civilian clothes who were throwing stones and bottles on other civilians who were on the opposite side of Tigran Mets Avenue.
Iravaban.net’s journalist videotaped the incident and approached the mentioned persons in civilian. Those persons urged the journalist to cross the street saying that their side of the street was safer. Then they requested to switch of the video camera.
After the journalist had switched off the camera, the persons in civilian clothes approached, tugged him applied psychological and physical pressure, throw him on the ground and demanded the camera chip. After taking the chip (the memory card) with violence, the persons in civilian clothes allowed the journalist to leave the place of the incident.
After the incident the journalist underwent medical examination by the doctors of the emergency medical service. The Head of Public Relations Service of the RA Police and the Human Rights defender of the RA were also informed about the incident.
