Ukraine was planning to attack the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) this month. The statement came from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday after talks with Ukrainian and Turkish Foreign Ministers Dmitry Kuleba and Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, TASS reports .

“Despite our many years of reminders, exhortations, appeals, offers, no one listened to us. President Vladimir Putin has spoken on this subject many times, and the new facts that are now being revealed show that an attack on the People’s Republics was planned for this month,” Lavrov said.

The minister stressed that Russia has not attacked Ukraine, does not plan to attack other countries. According to him , Russia is able to take care of its own economy in the conditions of sanctions; the country’s authorities do that.

“As for the state of the economy of the Russian Federation, we will take care of it ourselves, the President and our Government will do the same,” he said.

The Russian Federation will overcome the economic difficulties, Lavrov is sure.
