They were building a house for Khachik to get married, yet, he volunteered, went to war and everything was left unfinished

They were building a house for Khachik. He had decided to have a house and then a family. In September 2020, the plans changed and Khachik Galstyan volunteered to take part in the Second Artsakh War. The house was left unfinished, as were the other plans.

“He was a different boy by his type and character, his kindness, human nature was completely different, and he was a man of idea. He would be next to the weak, with humor, he would not allow himself to be superfluous in life, he would be able to communicate with an adult, as an adult, and with a child of any age in his own language,” Armen Martirosyan, Khachik’s cousin says.

Although Khachik’s brother, cousin are the military and were already participating in the war, it did not matter to him and he volunteered, the family members found out it at the last minute, he said goodbye and went to Artsakh on 5  October. “Not being a military, he loved the homeland more and gave his most precious thing. He proved by his deeds that he loves. He left, thinking about his family, his homeland and the 18-year-old soldier, so that he would be by their side, so that they would not feel alone. He went to defend the homeland for his part,” the brother says.

According to him, they do not talk about Khachik in the past, as long as we live, as long as we breathe, he is with us, in our heart, mind, idea․ Like Khachik, I will say the same to our other immortal heroes – thank you guys, you gave your most precious thing, but be sure that the price of your life will be compensated by the enemy, we will not leave it like this.”

Khachik Galstyan was born on 2 April, 1989, died in the battles for the defense of the homeland in the Jrakan section, on 10 October.
