Before going to the army, Hayk said that if I died, I would be taken like a hero, the anthem would sound for me

“We have been waiting for Hayk’s birth for four and a half years. He has tried himself everywhere – in sports, music, painting and has always been incomplete,” Hripsime Lobyan, the mother of Hayk Annikyan, who died in the Artsakh war said.

Hayk’s father, Tigran Annikyan, said that his son had always understood them, he had entered into his situation. “When he wanted something and it didn’t happen, he was never offended, he never objected,” he said.

According to his mother, Hayk’s service was postponed for 6 months, but without warning his parents, he volunteered to leave for service as soon as possible. “I have to serve, it’s my life, and you have nothing to do with me. He talked a lot about death, he said, you will see, I will go, I will become a hero, I will go and stand on the hill, I will tell the Turks, I have come. If I die, I will be taken like a hero, the anthem will be played for me,” the mother said.

On the day he left for the army, he told his parents that he would not return from Artsakh either.

He was injured and was in the hospital for 5 days, but he did not tell his parents not to worry them. The mother last spoke to Hayk on 22 October. “I called, a boy answered the call and said, ‘Hayk is gone, everyone is dead, there are only a few of us left,” she said.
