YSU Faculty of Law hosted an event, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Tigran Sargsyan.
The event was organized by YSU Military-patriotic Education Club “Vardanank” and Faculty of Law. It was attended by the Dean of this faculty Gagik Ghazinyan, lecturers, students, “Vardanank” members, relatives of other freedom fighters, Tigran Sargsyan’s relatives, brothers in arms, friends and fellows.
Member of “Vardanank” Shushanik Sargsyan presented the biography of the hero, who despite his short life was able enough to do much (he was born on April 27, 1965).
Dean of the Faculty of Law is sure it is symbolic that the events, dedicated to the soldiers-liberators, are held at the classrooms, named after them. Students get inspired by the deeds of such outstanding personalities.
“As a lecturer and deputy dean, I have had a direct contact with him. I remember, he was often absent from classes, and when once I asked him why, he answered nothing. Then his friends told me that he was in Artsakh,” – said Mr. Ghazinyan.
Hero’s son, Argishti Sargsyan, master student at the Faculty of Law, was only 4 months old when his father died, so he has no memories, related to his father. He said he would listen with great pleasure to the speeches, made by his father’s friends, who know many memorable episodes.
“I think the best gift for his birthday would be the continuation of his work, or at least if we preserve what he has done. The patriotic upbringing is still relevant, and patriotism is a necessity for the advanced men,” – said Argishti Sargsyan.
Chairman of the Military Council of the Militia Detachment “Tigran the Great” Khachik Galstyan characterized the hero as an honest and law-abiding commander, a patriotic individual. On behalf of their detachment he conferred Argishti Sargsyan a commemorative medal.
Tigran Sargsyan’s childhood friends, military friends, fellows and many others also made speeches.
After the event the participants went to Yerablur where liturgy was performed in memory of the hero.
