Currently 15 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment continue their hunger-strike in “Nubarashen” penitentiary. Iravaban.net gets this information from the Head of Public Relations Division of the RA Ministry Of Justice Criminal-Executive Department Gor Ghlechyan. “Initially there were 29 convicts on hunger-strike, but 14 of them stopped it”, said Mr. Ghlechyan.
He also stated that the employees of Nubarashen penitentiary Social-Psychological department hold conversations with the people on hunger-strike.
Let us remind that there are 104 people sentenced to life imprisonment in Armenia. 90 of them bear their punishment in “Nubarashen” Penitentiary.
