The Iranian Armed Forces published a Preliminary Report on the Helicopter Crash

The helicopter did not leave the approved flight path, the pilot of the helicopter had contact with the other two helicopters about one and a half minutes before the accident, no bullet or similar traces were found in the wreckage of the crashed helicopter.

The Iranian IRNA agency reported, referring to the preliminary report of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces regarding the accident of the helicopter carrying the Iranian President, Minister of Foreign Affairs and other high-ranking officials.

According to the report, the helicopter caught fire after crashing into the mountain. It is noted that search operations continued throughout the night due to the complexity of the area, fog and low temperature, and only early on Monday morning the Iranian drones discovered the crash site.

It is reported that there were no suspicious questions in the records of conversations of the staff.

On 19 May, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Abdolahian and four other people died in a helicopter crash in Varzaqan County, located in the northwest of East Azerbaijan province of Iran.
