Before joining the army, on 20 December, 2019, Gevorg held the last boxing match, where he defeated his Turkish opponent and presented the victory to his mother.

He came in, had tickets in his hand, and said, Mom, I am sorry, but I have made my decision I am Armenian, and I have to go and pay my debt to my homeland,” the mother of the killed soldier told.
When Gevorg gathered his belongings to return to Armenia, the first thing to take with him was the flag waving from the window and The New Testament.
