Albert Stepanyan was in the forest for about 80 days։ Perhaps the enemy got there before us

Albert Stepanyan, who died in the Artsakh war, was drafted into the army on 20 July, 2020, and served in Jrakan (Jabrail).

Albert Stepanyan and his 5 friends were in the forest for about 80 days. The 6 survived boys reported that other boys were with them in the village of Vank, but separated due to disagreements. On 27 December, the enemy found the boys and killed them.

The family members last talked to Albert on 12 October. “They were already under siege in the village of Vank, they avoided a big fight. 21 people stayed in that village for 27 days,” his father, Gagik Stepanyan said. He went to Artsakh on 13 October to participate in the search. “We searched a lot of areas, but we did not find the children, because the enemy got there earlier than us, I do not know. On 27 December, I learned that six boys had been shot, but I did not know that my son was among them. We were shown the photos, but I did not recognize, that is, they had tortured them,” the father said.

Albert underwent surgery on 25 September. A few days after the operation, he took part in the battels on 8 October.

“There were many children who underwent surgery or treatment at the same hospital, maybe in a worse condition than Albert. Where are those children? Where did they take them?” Albert’s mother, Teresa Khachatryan said.

Albert Stepanyan was born on 25 June, 2002, and died on December 27, 2020.
