The 6 rescued soldiers were carrying their wounded friend with them for days; when he died, they hid Davit’s body, and swore if they survive, they would come for him

Davit Adoyan, who died in the Artsakh war, was only two months in the army when the Artsakh war unleashed by Azerbaijan began. He was drafted into the army on 17 July, 2020 and served in Jrakan (Jabrail).

According to the parents, Davit’s detachment reached Hadrut on foot from Jrakan. They were under blockade, their parents were not aware of it.

Davit Adoyan was with the 6 soldiers who were found 70 days after the end of the war. He was wounded, the grenade exploded next to him and his leg was completely broken, but none of the relatives knew. The 6 boys carried their wounded friend with them, but he died. When he died, his friends made a sign and left Davit on the road leading from Vank village to Hadrut and swore that if even one of them survived, he would remember where his comrade-in-arms was left.

When the boys were found, they told Davit’s father where they had left Davit. Thanks to the efforts of Karen Sargsyan, Director of the State Emergency Situations Service of the Artsakh Republic, they were able to enter the already occupied village of Vank, find and remove Davit’s body.

“They got into a fight with the Turkish “Yeshma” special force group from Nakhichevan and all 6 of them said that Davit was fighting bravely,” his brother Vahram Adoyan says.

Davit Adoyan was born on 18 May, 2002, and died on 28 October, 2020.
