Junior sergeant Vahe Yeghikyan, who died in the Artsakh war, was drafted into the army on 11 July, 2019. He voluntarily chose to serve in Artsakh, then he decided that he should keep the position of Varazatumb (Lele Tepe)․ “It was his choice, without telling us anything, he had already done it, he just said it. He furnished the position, built the chapel was, planted flowers,” Vahe’s parents told.
He last spoke to his relatives on 29 September.
“Since the morning of 30 September, I was asking God to make Vahe call, make one call and so on until 24 October. 25 days of suffering, 25 days of hell, until we found Vahik,” Vahe Yeghikyan’s mother, Karine Muradyan says.
Vahe died in the arms of his comrade-in-arms, he was bleeding, and the last words were, “It should not happen, as if it were a dream, it should not be like this with me.”
Vahe Yeghikyan was born on 9 May, 2001, and died on 30 September, 2020.
