Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh with OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov (Russia), Stephane Visconti (France), Andrew Chaffer (USA) and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation informs, “Armenpress”, reports.
During the consultations, the current situation which was created after the signing of a statement on ceasefire on 9 November between the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia in Nagorno Karabakh was discussed,
The issues of coordination of further mediation efforts of the three countries were also discussed.
On 9 November, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint statement on the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno Karabakh. The war was stopped on 10 November, at 01:00, Russian peacekeepers entered Nagorno Karabakh. In total, it is planned to involve 1960 Russian servicemen, 90 armored vehicles, 380 units of vehicles and special equipment.
