At the initiative of the Turkish side, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during which he referred to the adoption of a statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno Karabakh. As reported by Armenpress, the press service of the Russian President disseminated a message about this.
“Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised Russia’s mediation efforts, which provide a good basis for a long-term, comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
In particular, an agreement was reached on a complete ceasefire, which allowed to stop the bloodshed. An agreement was reached on the implementation of comprehensive measures envisaged by the declaration on the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno Karabakh in the context of further close cooperation,” the statement reads.
The Presidents of Russia and Turkey have agreed to continue the regular dialogue in various formats.
