Iravaban.net informs that according to Article 14 of the RA Law on Defense, citizens are obliged in the manner prescribed by law:
- to stand for military registration, to be called up for compulsory military service, to participate in organized training gatherings, military exercises;
- comply with the requirements of notices issued by military commissariats, mobilization orders և orders;
- in case of announcing a mobilization:
- In the notices of the military commissariats, in the mobilization orders to appear in the mobilization conscription within the terms mentioned in the orders,
- not to leave their place of residence without the permission of the relevant military commissariat;
- Participate in defense activities.
Military registration is a state system of registration and analysis of conscription, training and mobilization resources of the Republic of Armenia for ensuring conscription of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, which is included and is one of the elements of conscription.
According to Article 21 of the Law on Defense, military registration is carried out by:
- The military commissariat of the conscript’s permanent residence.
- The military commissariat of the Republic of Armenia – conscripts who are not registered in the Republic of Armenia by consular registration․
- In addition, for the purpose of military registration, a personal file of the conscript is compiled at the military commissariat. the original documents or their copies, and in order to ensure the execution of conscription, the officials of state-local self-government bodies, regardless of the organizational-legal form, the employers’ organizations and educational institutions are obliged to:
- To maintain the register of conscripts in accordance with the established procedure, to submit the lists of persons subject to military registration to the military commissariats of their place of registration, as well as to provide data on deregistration or admission, transfer, dismissal (dismissal) of employment (educational institution);
- At the request of the relevant military commissariat, notify the conscripts about being called to the military commissariat.
- Dismissal of conscripts from work or dismissal for the required period of time specified in the notice of compulsory military service or military commissariat.
According to Article 22, Clause 3 of the same law, in case of change of the place of registration, conscripts are obliged to report to the relevant military commissariat within seven working days after arriving at the relevant military registration office.
Violation of the rules of military registration causes a warning or a fine in the amount of ten times the minimum wage, and another violation within a year, for which the person has already been subject to an administrative penalty, results in a fine equal to 20,000 drams.
Thus, if you have passed the military registration in the prescribed manner, the military commissariat must be notified of the change of your place of registration, in which case the notice will be sent to your location.
