Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of “Russia Today” TV channel commented on the article on Lenta.ru on her Facebook page. It should be noted that the article was about Simonyan’s sensational post։ Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s reaction to it.

Simonyan quoted an excerpt from the article on the social networ: “It can be said with great probability that as long as the former representatives of pro-American NGOs occupy the leading positions in Armenia, that Caucasian republic will create new points of tension in interstate relations, and Margarita Simonyan’s post officially opened the curtain on this issue. And Pashinyan’s immediate reaction only reinforces this assumption.”

An article by Lenta.ru entitled “American Roots” states that Margarita Simonyan’s post angered Nikol Pashinyan.

Notably, the scandalous post was published on 18 July amid the aggravation of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, which caused great discontent both in the Armenian Diaspora and in Armenia.

Later, Simonyan published a list of names of representatives of the Armenian Diaspora in Russia who “signed” under that call. There are 26 names in the list. In an interview with RBK on 28 July, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commented on Margarita Simonyan’s allegations.
