I am now alone in the Cell on my own Will, but there are Contacts with the Staff: Robert Kocharyan

The sitting of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, chaired by Judge Anna Danibekyan, continues today, on 8 May, at the Shengavit residence of the Court of General Jurisdiction.

During the hearing, Judge Anna Danibekyan asked Robert Kocharyan what the conditions were like in the penitentiary, whether there were other people in the cell or not.

The second President of the Republic of Armenia noted that the employees work one day and are free for three days. Nobody knows what they do outside of the working day. “90 percent of them are young people. This means that at least 50 percent of them will be asymptomatic even if they become infected. I am now alone in the cell on my own free will. But there are contacts with the staff, it is impossible otherwise. It is impossible to keep a distance while moving in the building,” Robert Kocharyan said.

Robert Kocharyan’s lawyer Hayk Alumyan added that they had applied to the Human Rights Defender as well.
