The Best Judges and Courts are announced

The General Meeting of Judges of the Republic of Armenia was held on 16 February. The General Meeting is the highest self-governance body of the judiciary. The General meeting includes all judges of the Republic of Armenia.

The schedule included the issue of recognizing and handing the prizes to the best judges and courts of the RA in 2012.

Mr. Arman Mkrtumyan, Chairman of the Court of Cassation of the RA, referred to the already established tradition; recognizing the best judges and courts of the RA, noted that a special commission is formed under the Chairman of the Court of Cassation every year to select the best judges and courts of the year. The Commission considers the indicators of the judges’ activities.

According to the information provided by the Judicial Department of the RA, Mr. Arman Mkrtumyan, summarized the indicators and mentioned that the judges who were recognized the best last year continue to show high qualification this year as well.

The best results in the Administrative Court were those of Kristine Mkoyan, Ruzanna Hakobyan and Arman Tovmasyan.

Among the judges that deal with civil cases in Yerevan, the best were the judges from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Ajapnyak and Davidashen Administrative Districts Margaita Hartenyan and Ani Mkhitaryan, and Naira Margaryan, from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Avan and Nork Marash Administrative Districts of Yerevan.

Among the judges that deal with civil cases in marzes, the best were the judges from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Gegharkunik marz Vanik Vardanyan and Arthur Tamrazyan; the judge from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Armavir marz Naira Grigoryan; the judge from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor marzes Harutyun Yenokyan; the judge from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Kotayk marz Nelly Galstyan.

Among the judges that deal with criminal cases in Yerevan, the best were the judge from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Malatia-Sebastia Administrative Districts, Karen Farkhoyan;  the judge from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Arabkir and Qanaqer-Zeytun Administrative Districts, Arthur Mkrtchyan; the judge from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Erebuni and Nubarashen Administrative Districts, Artush Gabrielyan; the judge from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Ajapnyak and Davidashen Administrative Districts, David Balayan; the judge from the Court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts, Mkhitar Papoyan.

The Courts of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Lori marz and Kotayk marz were recognized the “Best Court of the Year” in 2012.
