The only woman judge of the Bankruptcy Court Lilit Katalyan works since 2009. In an interview with Iravaban.net, she said that overload has a major impact on the quality of a judge’s work. The Supreme Judicial Council is trying to solve the problem, but it still exists.
In 1999, Lilit Katalyan began to work as an advocate at the Union of Advocates.
From 2008 to 2009 she worked as a judge of the Yerevan Civil Court. On 27 February, 2009, by the decree of the President, she was appointed Judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Malatia-Sebastia Administrative District. On 10 August, 2018, by the decree of the President, she was appointed a Judge of the Bankruptcy Court.
The judge also referred to the discrimination against women in Armenia and the amendments to the Law on Bankruptcy.
