The RA Ministry of Defense officially confirms the information regarding the active offensive operations undertaken by the enemy in the night of 1 to 2 April along the entire contact line of the Karabakh and Azerbaijnai armed forces. The enemy used tanks, artillery and aviation with the aim of piercing into the NKR Defense Army and occupying strategic positions.
As of the moment, the operations undertaken by the NKR Defense Army units have resulted in the enemy being thrown back along the entire contact line and giving many victims. Military operations continue.
The RA Ministry of Defense strongly condemns the unprecedentedly aggressive and irresponsible decision of the Azerbaijani authorities to commence military operations. The ministry officially declares that continuation of military operations can entail unpredictable repercussions for the Azerbaijani side.
The Azerbaijani authorities bear full responsibility for the unprecedented escalation of the situation on the contact line of the Karabakh and Azerbaijnai armed forces.
The RA Ministry of Defense draws the attention of the whole international community and particularly the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to the situation and expects them to make a targeted and immediate intervention in order to keep the situation under control and avoid large-scale military action.
