Who can have Weapons?

Pursuant to Article 13 of the RA law on Weapons, a citizen of the Republic of Armenia who has attained the age of 18 has the right to acquire civilian weapons.

According to the RA Government decision N 673 of 26 November 1999, carrying weapons is allowed:

a) to state officials, persons under special state protection in the order provided by the RA legislation,

b) to the employees of juridical persons carrying out specific statutory duties, during the implementation of their service duties,

c) to the Republic of Armenia citizens for hunting, sport events, sport and training shooting as well as in other cases provided by law,

d) to soldiers, retired employees of paramilitary organizations, persons awarded with arms, in cases where the note “permanent wearing of weapons is permitted” is indicated in the license of having and wearing weapons.
