Poghos Hakobyan fell in battle on September 27, 2020, during the war unleashed by Azerbaijan. His wife, Siranush Ghazaryan, tells Iravaban.net‘s “For the Homeland” series that they have a son, Gevorg, and were a loving and harmonious family: “A very good husband, good father, dedicated to his family in every matter, in every way.”
His friend, Arthur Avetisyan, says there is no one who could complain about Poghos, saying he did something bad to someone; on the contrary, he always tried to help everyone.
Poghos Hakobyan’s wife recalls that during the years when their son was in the army, the father also served with him for almost 2 years.
“During the April War, all of his colleagues came back, but he didn’t, saying ‘I must stay until the end with my son.’ He stayed, they brought Gevorg down from the positions, and only then did he return home with a clear conscience,” recounts the hero’s brother’s wife, Hripsime Hakobyan.
According to his wife, during the 44-day war, father and son did not meet because Gevorg was taken from Abovyan, while Poghos went as a volunteer to be by his son’s side, but they never met.
