A UN Peacekeeping Mission can be sent to Nagorno Karabakh only by the decision of the UN Security Council. As “Armenpress” informs, citing TASS, Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General said.
“Decisions about any Peacekeeping Mission are made by the UN Security Council,” he said.
On 21 September, at the session of the UN Security Council regarding the situation in Nagorno Karabakh, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that it is necessary to create an opportunity for peacekeeping forces under the mandate of the UN to ensure stability and security in Nagorno Karabakh.
