We will have a house at the cost of my son’s blood: The mother of Ashot Karapetyan, who died in the war, about her son’s goals

Ashot Karapetyan, who died in the Second Artsakh War, left for Artsakh on 1 October. He led the volunteer detachment. The mother says that her son was highly respected, loved and his orders were always listened.

“He was an outstanding, resourceful boy. The people in our military commissariat here also said that Ashot’s detachment would never surrender, he would be a good commander,” his mother, Araksya Karapetyan says.

He told his mother that he would definitely leave and asked not to try to keep him back as he was very familiar with the places in Artsakh. He said I am going for you, for my sisters.

“The last time I spoke to him was on 12 October. He said everything was fine, I asked for an armor, they will bring it. Then I learned that it was not given to him,” the mother says.

Ashot Karapetyan was born on 5 August, 1979. He died on 13 October, 2020 in the battles for the defense of the homeland.
