The citizen who wanted to leave for Georgia phoned the Office of Ombudsman and reported that he was put handcuffs on the Armenian-Georgian border (at Bagratashen) and he was moved to the local Police Department. They found there that the citizen was a witness on the case initiated by the RA Special Investigative Service and the investigative officer imposed a restriction of his movement.
The citizen reported that the case was ceased however the Police said the imposition of the restriction was not lifted. The RA Office of Ombudsman reports about this.
Due to the Ombudsman’s employee Martik Martirosyan’s prompt activity, they connected with the investigative officer of the RA Special Investigative Service who confirmed the imposition of the restriction by adding that the examination of that criminal case was sent to the Investigative Committee.
The representative of Ombudsman found out that about two weeks ago the restriction was lifted however it is odd why the restriction has not been lifted by now.
After Ombudsman’s mediation the restriction imposed on the citizen was lifted.
