Martiros Barseghyan was killed on 12 October, 2020, as a result of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan. He served in Araler, he was a senior mechanic. It was almost time to be discharged. He served with love, without repine.

Grandfather Garnik Barseghyan told  told within the framework of ” Immortal Victims of the Artsakh War” series of Iravaban.net that he and his grandson were very close. On 12 October, he foresaw the death of his grandson. He went to Vaik, where Martiros’s wounded friend was.

“After asking, I found that boy’s house, he was wounded in the leg. He told that their Commander gave the order to advance, Martiros sat at the wheel; they went forward and fell into the blockade. The platoon Commander saw with binoculars how the tank hit, and then the boys began shooting. The s  was wounded, Martiros tried to pull him away, he pulled a little, he was wounded in the leg, they saw that they could not help the wounded Commander, the three of them ran to hide behind the hill. All three were killed on the hill, the Platoon Commander saw it,” the grandfather said.

Garnik Barseghyan says that he searched for his grandson’s body for two months. “The platoon Commander came here, brought the medal, and said that children were shot on the 95th direction of Jrakan.”

Thanks to the Commander, they were able to find the body of Martiros Barseghyan. He was buried on 31 December.
