Can you receive Pension if you were absent from Armenia?

The legal relations on this issue are regulated under the RA law on State Pensions, which was adopted on 12 December 2010. Pursuant to Article 41 of the law the right to a pension shall cease if the beneficiary that has the right to labor or military pension (or the person entitled by law to receive pension) has not received his or her pension in person for five successive years.

This means if you were absent from Armenia for more than 5 years, you will not be able to receive the pensions for that period.

However, pursuant to Article 36 of the RA Law on State Pensions, the outstanding pension amounts shall be paid covering the period of one year proceeding the month of applying for a pension during the period of which the individual was eligible for a pension.

This means that if your absence from Armenia was less than 5 years, then you can receive the latest 1 year pension.
