Today, the resident of Gyumri City Aram Hakobyan was arrested in the framework of the criminal case considered in the Especially Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee, on the fact of perpetration of mass disorders in places of mass events on the occasion of the 24th April.
Prior to this Varuzhan Avetisyan, Pavel Manukyan, Gevorg Safaryan, Zhirayr Sefilyan and Gagreging Chukaszyan were arrested.
The Investigative Committee reported that the arrested were explained their rights under the law, and they all expressed a desire to have a defender.
The advocates invited by the suspects and their relatives were involved as defenders.
Advocates Tigran Yegoryan and Hayk Grigoryan will represent the rights of Zhirayr Sefilyan and Garegin Chukaszyan; Advocates Hayk Grigoryan and Gevorg Davtyan will represent Pavel Manukyan’s and Gevorg Safaryan’s rights respectively.
Four advocates will represent the rights of the suspect Varuzhan Avetisyan. They are Tigran Yegoryan, Hayk Grigoryan, Lusine Hakobyan and Gevorg Davtyan.
The preliminary investigation is in process.
Aimed to reveal all circumstances of the alleged perpetration of crime, the operative officers of the RA NSS are carrying out the necessary investigative and operational activities. Additional information will be provided.
Note: The suspect or the accused of the alleged offense is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
