The Court of General Jurisdiction of Malatia-Sebastia community examines the criminal case against Gevorg P., Shant H. and Rudik Z.
As the Judicial Department informs, Gevorg P., soldier of the X military unit of the RA MoD, is charged for arguing with S.M. on 13.10.2014, improperly humiliating his honor and dignity. Later, on 07.11.2014 he started an argument on the matter of cleaning works with Shant H. and Rudik Z., hit them with hands, causing light injuries to their health.
Detention was applied to Gevorg P. as a restraint measure.
He is charged with the characteristics of 2nd part of the Article 360 of the RA Criminal Code, according to which “Insulting a serviceman, i.e. humiliation of honor or self-esteem concerned with the implementation of one’s service duties, committed by a subordinate to a commander, as well as, by a commander to a subordinate, concerned with implementation of one’s service duties, is punished with arrest for the term of up to 3 months, or with disciplinary battalion for the term of up to 1 year, or with imprisonment for the term of up to 1 year”.
Charges have been filed also against Shant H. and Rudik Z, who are charged with the characteristics of the 2nd provision of the 2nd part of Article 359 of the RA Criminal Code, according to which: “Breach of relations, prescribed by field manuals, between servicemen not subordinated to each other, expressed in humiliation of the person’s honor and self-esteem, persecution or violence, committed by a group of persons, is punished with 1-3 years of restriction in military service, or with disciplinary battalion for the term of 1 to 3 years, or with imprisonment for the term of up to 5 years”.

Note: The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
