Today, the representatives of the sphere providing taxi services organized protest actions in front of the Government buildingof the RA and continued it in the Republic Square. They were protesting against the new procedure for licensing the taxi service. “We request the government to delay for several months the mandatory request of paying 12 thousand AMD and installing taximeters, so that the people can work a little have their clients and then are able to install the taximeters and pay the fees. We ned at least three months delay,” Armen Grigoryan, one of the protestors mentioned.
Gagik Beglaryan, the RA Minister of Transport and Communication met with the protestors just after the Government Session. The protesters expressed their complaints to the Minister. The latter said that over 20000 taxi drivers were in favor of the new regulations.
