Today, at the Parliamentary Hearings, the RA Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan answered to the questions of the MPs, and referred to his promise to apply to the RF Prosecutor General. He said, “Yes, I promised that I should apply and this is not simply a promise. It is my duty under the agreement. Of course I am obliged to apply to the RF Prosecutor General with such requets to pass the case to the RA Law Enforcement Authorities. But I must say that these applications are not an end in itself, they are carried out according to the stages of investigation activities. When there are sufficient grounds then the application will come. However, despite everything I shall apply to the RF Prosecutor General,” Prosecutor General said.
The MPs also asked to provide information on the case, specifically: when Valery Permyakov left the military base, his relations with the murdered people. Gevorg Kostanyan answered, “We have the answers of all questions in the criminal case, the circumstance who was the first to notice the fact of Permyakov’s leaving the base, who reported about it. Everything is coordinated. The RA and RF law enforcement authorities have carried out inter coordinated measures. I cannot speak about these loudly considering the fact that the investigation is still in process and I shall refrain to say anything about it. As for the relations with the suffered family, these circumstances should become the issue of discussions as well. A number of hypotheses are being checked in the framework of the criminal case. Multiple motions have been filed in the connection with this case. I should also mention that the entire law enforcement block is inter cooperated, and are filing motions.”
