On 16 December, on the initiative of the General Department on Combating Organized Crime of the RA Police and with the support of OSCE Yerevan Office a round table discussion was organized. Informs the Public Relations and Information Department of the RA Police. Representatives from the major Internet industry representatives in Armenia and the Police Departments concerned attended the event.
An event in this format has been organized for the first time. Tigran Petrosyan, Chief of the 3rd Section of General Department on Combating Organized Crime of the RA Police and Davit Harutyunyan, the National Coordinator of Military and Political Programs of the OSCE Yerevan Office.
“We have a common goal: to deliver quality public services, to ensure the safety of users from criminal harassments,” Tigran Petrosyan said.
The other speakers emphasized the need for cooperation, which also issues from the requirements of the CE Convention on Cybercrime that Armenia has ratified, and is related with the RA Police Sector Reform Program 2013-2014.
A decision was made to continue the cooperation to ensure the legislative provisions with joint efforts.
In the closing remarks Davit Harutyunyan emphasized the high efficiency of the discussion and on behalf of the OSCE Yerevan Office expressed willingness to continue supporting the organization of such events that are related to the resolution of the problems existing in the sphere.
