According to the new order of licensing the motor vehicle taxi services, the licensing procedure will be simplified and thus reduce the corruption risks. Today, Gagik Beglaryan, the RA Minister of Communication and Transport, introduced the draft law on the sphere of taxi services.
“Specifically, the draft foresees providing the right for passenger transportation to the physical persons as well. The current law provides such rights only to the juridical persons and individual entrepreneurs,” Mr Beglaryan said. He added that the draft will clarify the identifying sign of the taxi as well as require the price list. The Taxi drivers will be exempted from the requirement to travel with yellow license plates.
The Minister informed that the requirement of compulsory parking places, the medical examination of the drivers and the technical check of the cars were removed. “In fact, Mr.Prime Minister, these requirements were not observed,” he added. The Government approved the Draft and provided 4 days for its finalization.
