On the Prime Minister’s instruction the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition of the Republic of Armenia conducted the study of market prices. Today, Artak Shaboyan, the Chair of SCPEC introduced the results.
He informed that the study was conducted in the framework of the goods which were in the view of the commission, and those were the markets of the goods that were realized by major companies. Among them were separated 16 – 17 names of products such as the butter, the oil, chicken meat, eggs, coffee, flour, etc. the studies were carried out in the period of November till 10 December. In this period, the exchange rate of the Armenian dram was depreciated by about 13 percent, from 411 to 463 AMD, which in its turn had a direct and immediate impact on the prices of imported goods, which began to rise from 20 November. He also noted that the raise in price of the locally produced goods was noticed as well.
